Note on state approval and the different schooling programmes:

Foundation of the Brigitte Kehrer fashion school in 1981. In 1989, the Brigitte Kehrer Vocational School of Fashion was the first private fashion school in Baden-Württemberg to receive state approval for its qualified curriculum in fashion design. Foundation of the Brigitte Kehrer fashion school in Mannheim in 1999. State- accredited since 2000, retroactive to the date of opening in 1999.

The Brigitte Kehrer Fashion School (Berufsfachschule für Mode Brigitte Kehrer) runs two training courses:

Both of the training courses listed below are under the supervision of the respective school supervisory authority responsible for the location in Stuttgart and Mannheim.

1. Training to become a state-accredited fashion designer
2. Training to become a state-accredited graphic and communication designer

The training to become a graphic & communication designer at our two schools contains many subjects of our training to become a state-accredited fashion designer, which has been very successful for many years. T he new training course offered by us to become a graphic & communication designer has been registered with the Stuttgart and Karlsruhe Regional Councils, but is not yet state-accredited. The new training course for Graphic & Communication Designers offered at our two schools started in 2020.

Additional qualifications:

The Kehrer Fashion School provides various additional qualifications outside the state- accredited curriculum as part of the training. These additional offers and qualifications are then each completed with a private certificate from our fashion school or, in the case of awards, certified with an external certificate. Additional offers require an individual minimum number of participants of approx. six.

Collaboration:

The Kehrer Fashion School cooperates with the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences Macromedia Academy with locations in Munich, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Cologne, Hamburg, Leipzig and Berlin.
