Visit at S.OLIVER GROUP

We will get you ready for your entry into the creative industry. For this reason, regular visits to well-known companies in the fashion industry are part of our training program for our young designers. On November 15, 2023 we were able to visit the S.OLIVER GROUP at their headquarters in Rottendorf.

Visit of the S.OLIVER GROUP at the headquarter in Rottendorf

Our students visited s.Oliver Group

S.OLIVER is known to everyone, even far beyond national borders: a real big player in the fashion business. Our students were so excited to get to know and experience this well-known company up close.

We were warmly welcomed by Ms. Anja Zenk (Consultant Employer Branding) and looked after very well throughout the day. Our students received extensive, profound and very exciting insights into the s.Oliver Group and its processes. Different departments were presented and introduced to us.

First we got a general overview of the S.OLIVER GROUP, the associated brands and the most important facts about the company. S.OLIVER is one of the largest employers in the fashion industry in Germany, and is therefore always in the focus of our students and graduates when it comes to starting their careers.

After the welcome and introduction, Mr. Daniel Torz (Senior Photographer) led us through the photo studios and explained to us exactly how they work there, we were shown different sets and we were even very lucky to get impressions of a live shooting.

After visiting the photo studios, we went to the sewing and editing departments. Here too we received exciting insights and explanations. The S.OLIVER GROUP still has a large sample sewing factory directly in Rottendorf.

Before the lunch break we were able to watch a very exciting lecture from the 2D/3D Competence Center. Ms. Rieke Schneider (Head of Competence Center 2D & 3D) and Ms. Sandra Stein (3D Specialist) took a lot of time for us and showed us the complex work of the 2D/3D Competence Center using many very interesting examples.

Digital product development has long been part of everyday life at the s.Oliver Group. The information and insights from the absolute experts were all the more exciting about how the topic of “digital development” is handled in such a large company and how important the topic of 3D development is now.

All participants were invited by s.Oliver to a delicious lunch. After refreshment in the company's own canteen, the next highlight for our young designers came straight away: Valeska Fust, Head of Design at QS by s.Oliver, demonstrated the collection development process using the QS brand as an example and was available to answer personal questions.

At the end there was a happy reunion with a graduate of our fashion school Kehrer Design Academy. Celine Juerga (designer), 2019 graduate, showed the young designers her personal career story after graduating from the Stuttgart fashion school Kehrer Design Academy. Celine is on the design team in the kids area. She gave valuable insights into her everyday working life, but also helpful tips on applications, interviews and portfolios.

Thank You Very Much!

The Kehrer Design Academy would like to take this opportunity to thank the S.OLIVER GROUP.

The day at the headquarter in Rottendorf was a great success for all students. Everyone really enjoyed it and we felt very comfortable.
